U.S.A has sent a team of FBI to help India investigate the attck on Mumbai. There are now strong evidences that Pakistan is linked to the blasts in India to a great extent. One FBI team is already in Mumbai. United states officials have helped in tracing the mail. The terror email was sent from lahore using relay servers which were sent from an IP in Russia. Also, the lone alive terrorist who is now in custody has revealed that he was trained by LeT in Karachi. There are also evidences of Indian intelligence intercepting some conversation among the terrorists before the attack, which the government didn’t take very seriously.

Pakistan had earlier promised cooperation in the probe of Mumbai attack. Pakistan has cooperated very well when they took a U-turn and took back their word that Pakistan would send the ISI chief to India to take evidence of Pakistan’s link to the attack. Also now they are planning to relocate their forces to the LoC. Geart way to cooperate.

We were able to take down the terrorists around 60 hours after all this began at the cost of more than 150 deaths and 320 persons being injured. The numbers will definitely rise.

The terrorists easily entered Mumbai through our waters. Another batch had arrived much earlier and surveyed the area. There were a total of around 20-40 terrorists who enetered our country. Only 11 of them dead and 1 caught. What are others upto?

The one terrorist who was caught informs that their plan was to reduce the 2 hotels to rubble. To replicate a 9/11 situation. However, without using the planes but with explosives. So, they almost failed. What could be their next step?

Reports of Fresh firing at Taj hotel in Mumbai at around 1:30 pm. Thanks to terrorists that this five star hotel has turned into a real battlefield. Also there are strong rumours that there have been firing at CST station and GT hospital. The news of firing at CST has been ruled out by the authorities. These terrorists are never going to stop. India has to take severe steps to secure our land.

This time there was no negotiation with the terrorists which seems to be a good decision. As the terrorists fired indiscriminately at various location in Mumbai it becomes clear they were here only to create panic and drown us in fear and with no other strong motive.

Yesterday some terrorists attacked Mumbai. TAJ MAHAL and  OBEROI hotels and NARIMAN HOUSE were targeted. There were reports of firing at various other places in south Mumbai( such as KAMa hospital).  Mumbai was attacked at 11 places. The terrorists used grenades in TAJ. “The terrorists were saying that they were basically looking for anyone with a British or American passport” reported a witness yesterday night who managed to escape with help of our forces. More than 100 dead including 16 police officials and around 280 people are injured. The terrorists have MP5 guns and AK-47 as believed earlier.

White House has pinned down serious concern on this attack. It is believed that 2 of the US intelligence agents  have been killed in this attack. This piece of classified news is hard to confirm as there is no official word about it. It is believed that four terrorists have taken hostage of five Israeli families in the Nariman House. So, the Israeli government is watching the proceedings  closely. However top French nuclear physicist M George Bendrias has been evacuated safely and this has been confirmed officially.

Deccan Mujahideen claims responsibility for the attack. Even though 100 people were rescued from TAJ , it is believed there are still some hostages with the terrorists. However, there is no official confirmation of any statistics. All the data is based on the eye-witness reports and tactical movements being taken by the Military and Police. CNN-IBN reports 5 terrorists dead( 3 in TAJ and 2 in Girgaum and 1 detained.

SRIPRAKASH JAISWAL, MOS, HOME MINISTRY calls it a war. Indeed it’s a war as many key police officials have lost their lives. The terrorists are well trained to to carry out great damage as reported by defece personnel.

As I type this, news channels report that encounter at OBEROI intensifies. Hostages are still in OBEROI. Firing and loud explosions take place at OBEROI. Police use smoke cannisters to disable terrorist vision. Cammandos start firing at 4 terrorists at Nariman House. England tour cancelled. Champion League T20 also uncertain.

Are our metropolitan cities safe anymore???

Dead bodies are being brought out from TAJ at around noon today.  Several TAJ staff killed. There are still many hostages in TAJ and TRIDENT(OBEROI) hotels. 800 army personnel dispatched around mumbai in different areas.

PS: This data refers to what happened in Mumbai on Nov 27th upto 10:00 am.

You might have read my earlier post this month “Run Windows XP in Vista”. My friend Satish commented that it’s damn slow and horrible. I was a student of Mr. Rajesh Sola, who suggested me to try Sun Virtual Box. Virtual Box is the best way to virtualize your PC with different machines. It’s fast it’s easy to use and guess what? It’s free!!! I love this software. It can run many different Operating Systems on your PC. If you want to try Linux and you are afraid that you are naive and can’t handle it. Please try Linux in a virtual environment using Sun Virtual Box. You will know, that linux is much better than Windows and has many of the applications similar to that run on Windows. I used the Virtual Box to run Windows XP in Vista as I am currently dealing with softwares which run onlyn on Windows XP and Vista doesn’t support them.

It’s a free program that let’s you run many Operating Systems on your systems in a virtual machine window, without affecting your primary OS.

A few weeks back I was in Ranikhet. It’s got a superb climate. It’s a tourist destination during summer as it’s got a good climate. It’s not very hot even in summer as it comprises of mountains. At a higher altitude one can always find low temperature. This is the main reason why tourists around the world and in India visit Ranikhet during summer. During winter the best thing is to stay at home near the fireplace or an electric heater. There’s a problem of water scarcity in the city but in the Army cantonment life is good.

A hill station, idyllic in its charm, Ranikhet with its majestic pine trees, is around 90kms from Kathgodam, which is the nearest railway station to Raanikhet. Ranikhet reflects the very best of the heavenly Himalayas: their lush green forests, majestic mountain peaks, exotic plant life and attractive wild life. To experience nature’s beautiful elements  in full harmony of Himalayas the right place is Ranikhet. According to a popular belief at this spot King Sudhardev had won the heart of Queen Padmini. She chose this scenic place to her abode and since then it had come to be known as Ranikhet, literally “Queen’s field”.

Ranikhet has always been known as a Military center and a land of bravery since British period. In fact Ranikhet was designed and developed in a very classical way by British for their troops. At present Ranikhet is a land of Kumaon and Naga Regimental center. Sir Henry Russell established the Kumaon Regiment as Hyderabad Regiment in the year 1700, under the Nizam of Hyderabad.

The following sites can be visited during your stay in Ranikhet:

  • Chaubatiya Garden: Around 10 km from Ranikhet, this place has fruit gardens with a government Fruit Research Center.
  • Bhalu Dam: It’s 3km from Chaubatiya. It is famous for fishing.
  • Upat, Kalika: 6kms from Ranikhet on the road to Almora the place has one of the very popular golf courses in India. It’s a 9 hole golf course. Also, surrounded by dense forest jusy one km away from Upat is a Kalika Devi temple.
  • Hairakhan Dham(Haidakhan Dham): It is 5 km from Ranikhet, ashram of Haidakhan baba is located here. Many foreign disciples of baba can be found here
