A tunnel is said to have linked New York city in USA and London in England. Why? Just to see people using some mirrors. Not so clear. Well Paul St George claims his “Telectroscope” connects New York and London via a (very) long tunnel running through the earth’s crust, with the images bouncing back and forth using mirrors. Something like the periscope.

I don’t know if this is true. I mean we have web-cams, video chats, optical fibre. Why a tunnel with mirrors? Waste of money. However, this so called ‘Telectroscope’ doesn’t transfer audio as the technology to transfer video uses only mirrors.

However, a BBC new article figures out people like it very much. I saw this kind of thing in a CISCO telepresence ad. I think optical fibre would be a better option than digging a tunnel. I hope they soon call it a hoax and connect some unplugged wires(which probably don’t exist) of audio. So, people don’t have to use whiteboards to communicate using ‘Telectroscope’. Most probably this isn’t a hoax. I guess, they should atleast send some wires in that tunnel for audio transmission.
